A little about Michael the artist:

Hi World!

I'M Michael Poole

I was born and raised in La Jolla, California. I have been a local artist and photographer for over 30 years. I started my journey into photography while still in high school. I got my start by working at a local photo lab doing custom color printing. I became the lead photographer and photo editor of my college newspaper. I then moved onto photo pressing and printing out of my house. Later I opened a 3,600 square foot photo lab, where my team and I did custom black & white and color printing as well as slide processing. I specialized in architectural & industrial photography using large format 4x5 & 8x10 view cameras as well as his Nikon F3's. Today, I use Nikon Digital SLRs and DJI drones to capture my images. I then create my vision in my own digital lab. Printing high-end Giclee on my State of the art Epson wide format printers using archival papers and ink to create a high quality Fine Art Photos. .

Inspiration

I like to take the ordinary and make it extraordinary! I enjoy industrial subject matter and seascapes. And I have a newfound passion for drone photography and aerial shots.

Techniques

Using a Nikon DSLR or DJI Drone, I employ unique angles to his photos, treating the original photographs with filters and color modifications in Photoshop produce the final product.

career highlights

I was the lead photographer and photo editor of Mesa College while I was in attendance there. I have participated in the Ansel Adams School located in Yosemite, California. The San Diego County Fair has honored my photography with awards. For 20 years I have owned my own photo lab and portrait studio.
